Where Can You Consume Cannabis?
While purchasing and delivery are easier than ever, consumption laws remain strict to protect public health.
Private Property: You may legally smoke, vape, or consume edibles in your private residence or on private property (with the owner's permission).
Public Spaces: It remains entirely illegal to consume cannabis in public spaces, including parks, beaches, sidewalks, and inside moving vehicles.
Federal Land: Because cannabis remains a Schedule I substance at the federal level, possession and consumption are strictly prohibited on federal lands within New Jersey, such as national parks or military bases.
Strict Packaging and Transport Laws
When you order cannabis delivery, you will notice the packaging is highly specific. Under New Jersey's CRC regulations, all cannabis products must be sold in opaque, child-resistant packaging. Furthermore, all deliveries arrive in a sealed, tamper-evident "exit bag."
If you travel with your cannabis after receiving your delivery, keep it sealed in this original packaging and store it in the trunk of your vehicle out of reach of the driver. Never cross state lines with cannabis, even if you are traveling to neighboring states like New York or Pennsylvania where it is also legal.
